On December 6, 2018, the Gennadius Library hosted the 9th meeting of the Athens Archaeological Research Libraries. Acting Director Irini Solomonidi welcomed guests and presented recent programming at the library, such as the inauguration of the Ioannis Makryiannis Wing and the exhibitions related to 2018 Athens World Book Capital. The presentation was followed by a discussion on the challenges and difficulties of the Library Reclassification Project, which will unify all American School libraries from local call numbers to the Library of Congress system. 

Finally as a special addition, guests were able to tour of the new stacks of the West Wing opening to the public in September 2019!
